Ipswich/Bowdle wrestling season begins

The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestling started their season coached by Robbie Williams on Dec. 3, 2023, competing in the Stanley County Invitational.

The I/B wrestlers had 34 points, ninth place. Philip Area won the meet with 217 points.

Kadyn Weisser placed third and Beau Schilling placed fourth.

I/B wrestling results were:

106 — Edison Unser: lost by fall (0:57); lost by fall (1:25)

106 — Chance Miller: received a bye; lost by fall (1:07); lost by fall (2:13)

126 — Ryder Berningaus: received a bye; lost by fall (1:01); lost by fall (2:20)

138 — Xavier Kadlec: lost by fall (2:39); lost by fall (1:43)

150 — Beau Schilling: won by fall (0:57); lost by decision 7-2; won by fall (2:14); won by decision 9-8; lost by fall (2:32) to place fourth and scoring 13 team points

190 — Justin Rohrbach: lost by fall (3:20); won by fall (0:20); lost by decision (9-3), scoring three team points


215: Kadyn Weisser: received a bye; won by fall (1:26); lost by decision (4-2); won by fall (3:28); won by fall (1:56) for third place scoring 18 team points

The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed in the Faulkton Invitational on Dec. 9.

I/B scored 32.5 points for 11th place. Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes won the Invitational with 222 points.

Ipswich/Bowdle results included:

98 — Chance Miller: lost by fall (3:17); won by fall (0:57); won by fall (4:12); lost by medical forfeit for fourth place

98 — Edison Unser: won by major decision (15-5); lost by fall (0:30); lost by fall (4:12); won by fall (1:40) to win sixth place

150 — Beau Schilling: received a bye; won by decision (7-6); lost by fall (3:37); lost by fall (4:10); lost by fall (0:39) to win sixth place, scoring seven team points

190 — Justin Rohrbach: won by fall (0:52); lost by tech fall (16-0); won by fall (2:28); lost in sudden victory (SV-1 5-3) scoring seven team points

215 — Kadyn Weisser: received a bye; won by fall (2:39); lost by fall (3:35); won by tech fall (16-0); won by fall (2:48) to win third place, scoring 19.5 team points

The Ipswich/Bowdle grapplers are scheduled to wrestle in Plankinton on Dec. 16.
