STOVE EXPLODES; BELIEVE DYNAMITE CAP CAUSE

Mrs. F. C. Getsman had a peculiar experience last Thursday when the hard coal heater exploded.

Mrs. Getsman had shaken the stove down and being a self-feeding type of stove the coal moved down into the firepot.

She went to the kitchen to do her work. She heard a terrific noise as if an explosion. She ran out of doors to call for help. Sandy Jones and A. Herrboldt came to her assistance. Upon entering the front room it was discovered that the hard coal heater had exploded and shattered the stove to pieces. Nothing was left but the base of the stove. Pieces of nickel and iron were lying about the room. The rugs were burned from the coals, the curtains caught afire and the walls were somewhat scorched.

It is believed that a dynamite cap used in blasting the coal at the mine must have been in the coal and this caused the explosion.

Mrs. Getsman was fortunate in not being in the room as she would have been seriously injured or instantly killed.
