Plays compete today in Ipswich

Edmunds Central one-act play cast rehearsal preparing for the Regional Competition in Ipswich on Jan. 17. They will also perform the play "Nellie" in Roscoe on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Edmunds Central School. The play is based on the book Ten Days in a Madhouse by Nellie Bly.

The Ipswich School Theatre will be the site of the Region 7B One-Act Play competition on January 17.

The plays are open to the public. The schedule is:

• Faulkton Area 9 a.m.

• Selby Area 10 a.m.

• Timber Lake 11 a.m.

• Break 12-1 p.m.

• Edmunds Central 1 p.m.

• Lemmon 2 p.m.

• Herreid 3 p.m.

• Warner 4 p.m.

• Awards 5:30 p.m.

The top two plays chosen by the judges will qualify for the State One-Act Play Festival in Brandon February 1-3, 2024. The plays will be performed in the Brandon Valley Performance Center.

Each play has a maximum time of 45 minutes to set up, perform and strike the show....
