Now is the time to file petitions for election to seats on local boards.
In Roscoe a three-year term for a Trustee is open.
In Ipswich three City Council two-year terms positions, one in each Ward are open.
Petitions may be filed no later than Feb. 23 in the office of the finance officer or mailed by registeted mail by 5 p.m. on Feb. 23.
COUNTY
Positions up for election on the county level are: County Commission District 2 and District 4, State’s Attorney, Coroner, Treasurer, and Republican delegate to the State Convention.
The deadline for filing nominating petitions for the primary election is March 26, 2024 at 5 p.m. in the office of the county auditor during regular hours. The deadline for filing petitions to run as an independent candidate in the general election is April 30, 2024.
EDMUNDS CENTRAL SCHOOL
The five three-year terms on the Edmunds Central School Board are open. Petitions may be filed in the office of the business manager in the school office in Roscoe during business hours and until 5 p.m. on February 23 or mailed by registered mail not later than Feb. 23, 2024 at 5 p.m.
