Longtime farmer/rancher Spencer Gosch has announced his candidacy to once again represent District 23 in the South Dakota House of Representatives.

"During this past year, a number of people have encouraged me to run for one of our two seats in the state legislature again," Gosch said. "They shared with me that they have felt ignored. That has worried me, too, so I have decided to run for my old seat."

Gosch was born at the Mobridge Hospital, and graduated from Selby Area High School before going on to the University of South Dakota, where he met Ashley. The Gosch family farms and ranches south of Glenham with their three children.

Gosch says he is a strong advocate of education, of local control, and property rights. A current board member of South Dakota Right to Life, Gosch has always stood up to protect the lives of those that have not been able to protect themselves.

"I am humbled by the encouragement people have given me to run again," Gosch said. "I have always appreciated it when people reached out to me with their concerns. This isn't just about me and my family, it's about all the people in District 23 and their families, too. I would welcome the chance to work with our current legislature, Governor Noem and Lt. Governor Rhoden."

Gosch can be reached at [email protected], or by texting (605) 230-0313
