SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY

South Dakota State junior Alexandra Preszler is receiving the David J. and Darlene K. Schingoethe Scholarship and the Midwest Dairy Association Scholarship for the upcoming academic year.

Preszler, daughter of Jason and Heidi Preszler of Roscoe, majoring in dairy production, pre-vet and animal science. She is a 2016 Ipswich Public High School graduate.

Founded in 1881, South Dakota State University is the state’s Morrill Act land-grant institution as well as its largest, most comprehensive school of higher education. SDSU confers degrees from six different colleges representing more than 200 majors, minors and specializations. The institution also offers 36 master’s degree programs, 15 Ph.D. and two professional programs.

The work of the university is carried out on a residential campus in Brookings, at sites in Sioux Falls, Pierre and Rapid City, and through Extension offices and Agricultural Experiment Station research sites across the state.

MARY ANN FOUNDATION

The Mary Ann Foundation announced that two recent IHS graduates were among the seven recipients selected to receive a $500 scholarship for higher education.

Shaunay Jones, daughter of Morris and Annette Jones and Wyatt Haux, son of Rick and Karen Haux, were selected to receive scholarships.

The Mary Ann Foundation’s mission statement is to provide financial support to individuals of families in Walworth, Potter and Edmunds counties that require immediate or timely assistance with medical expenses, basic living necessitites or education funding. The Mary Ann Foundation is open to suggestions to aid our communities as well.
