Bank of Ipswich Poultry Contest Proving Popular

The Bank of Ipswich Boys and Girls poultry contest has far exceeded anticipation. 600 entrants are reported.

That means that 600 boys and girls of Edmunds County in Ranges 67, 68, 69 and 121-70 and 122-70 will be raising White Plymouth Rock chickens this summer. The second best chicken is to be delivered to the Bank of Ipswich in the fall when a poultry show will be held.

Eggs for the contest have been purchased by the bank from Hecla, Claremont, Bath, Selby, Aberdeen, Cresbard and Ipswich. The task of getting the eggs and delivering them is a huge one. The eggs are being delivered to the children next week.

The results of this contest will be far reaching. It will not merely furnish an impetus for the children to raise poultry this year but will give them a foundation for a flock of purebred chickens
