Evangeline Seidschlaw, 100, of Faulkton passed Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Redfield Care and Rehab.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Thomas Carlson presiding. Burial followed in the Faulkton Cemetery.

Evangeline Evelyn (Kadlec) Seidschlaw was born on Sept. 24, 1918 in Bon Home County, Tyndall, to Joseph William and Anna Mary (Pavlis) Kadlec. At the age of 6½ years the family moved to Cleveland Township in Edmunds County. She attended grade school in Cleveland Township and after the eighth grade took care of her ailing mother. After her mother passed away she worked in Ipswich.

She married Milton O Seidschlaw on July 17, 1940 in Aberdeen. They made their home near Cresbard until 1944 when they moved to Freedom Township, Wecota. They farmed there until 1989 when they retired and moved to Faulkton. Milton passed away in 1990. She worked at the Dairio, West Side Motel, and the Faulkton Nursing Home. She retired from the nursing home when she was 82.

She enjoyed many hobbies: reading, crocheting, sewing, raising flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.

In 2009 She entered the Golden Living Nursing Home in Ipswich. Three years later she transferred to Redfield Care and Rehabilitation for care of dementia.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Jack) Jones of Faulkton; one daughter-in-law, Roberta Seidschlaw of Wecota; four granddaughters, Pam (Scott) Hammond of Appleton Wis., Tami Jones of Faulkton, Stefanie (Steven) Seidschlaw-Waldren of Overland Park, Kan., Krista (Keith) Seurer of Sioux Falls; step granddaughter: Farrah (Lonnie) Mahrt of Plankinton; step grandson, Brandon (Kerri) Johnson of Watertown; four great-grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Agosta of Kaukauna, Wis., Tyler (Rebekah) Hammond of Kaukauna, Wis., Owen Seurer and Cason Seurer of Sioux Falls; step great-granddaughters, Morgen, Edana, and Nyomi Mahrt of Plankinton, Jainia and Allana Johnson of Watertown; two great-great grandsons: Henry Agosta and Lucas Agosta of Kaukauna, Wis.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Loren; daughter-in-law, Pam Seidschlaw; six brothers: Frank, Joe, Emil, William, Albert, and Wilfred; three sisters: Anna Kukrall, Rose Kukrall, and Olga Wagner; infant twin great-great granddaughters: Evelyn Rose and Emma Marie Agosta.
