The long holiday weekend proved to be a stormy one and the individual storms seemed to run together on into Sunday night. (And those July 5 storms were apparently even more intense both to the south and north of us in Faulk County and McPherson County.) But Monday's, July 6 weather wasn't as inclement as the advance forecasts had predicted and Tuesday morning also dawned mostly sunny with a light northwest wind for a change.

Meanwhile, some residences in Ipswich (including us) were without power Saturday night for over two hours during the July 4 evening storm. Weather observer Marv Seyer...
