Theodore Hatzenbeller was born on October 6, 1933 to Jacob (Jack) and Treasa (Kirchgesler) Hatzenbeller, the second oldest of eight boys, in Aberdeen. This is the area where he grew up and attended school. In his youth, Ted worked selling newspapers on Main Street, and at National Tea Grocers. Ted enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served honorably from 1951 to 1953.

On June 28, 1958 he was united in marriage to Monica Mathern in Aberdeen. Eight children were added to this union. The family remained in Aberdeen where Ted was employed with Milwaukee Railroad for 26 years.

Ted enjoyed playing baseball and softball, going to rummage sales and sharing a good joke. He loved hunting and fishing and time spent with his grandchildren, whom lovingly referred to him as "Pow Pow".

Grateful for having shared Ted's life are sons, Teddy (Lisa) Hatzenbeller, Tommy Hatzenbeller; daughters, Wanda McLaughlin, Karen (Larry) Vasvick, Linda (Clarence) Gauer, Joann Hatzenbeller, Toni (Randy) Hettich, Terri (Jeff) Peterson, Tammy Rose; brothers, Harold Hatzenbeller, Ken Hatzenbeller; and 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Monica, five brothers and one grandchild.
