Veterans Day program in School Theatre

Ipswich Band trumpet players surrounded the audience with their version of "The Star Spangled Banner." (There were also trumpet players on the opposite side.)

The Ipswich School hosted a Veterans Day program on Nov. 11 in the School Theatre.

The Ipswich Band and Chorus performed.

Jesse Knittel, a member of the Ipswich American Legion, gave the Veterans Day Message about the U.S. Flag etiquette and care. He had assistance from fellow Legion members.

Girls State delegates Chloe Jager and Holly Anderson had readings. Gavin Wollman had a welcome and history of Veterans Day.

The origins of the Pledge of Allegiance was given by Nate Collins and Patrick Cavillo. That was followed by the audience doing the Pledge of Allegiance.

Cindy Simon read the book "America's White Table," by Margot Theis Raven. Carol Lacher demonstrated the actions in the book about a veteran.

There was a short ceremony at the cemetery following the program.

Speaker Jesse Knittel spoke about U.S. Flag etiquette and the proper way to dispose of a flag if necessary. Legion members Terry Braun and Jerry Brooks assisted him.
