To the citizens of Edmunds County,

Jonathan Waldner is currently employed by the Sturgis Police Department as a “Special Officer” during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Jonathan has worked the Rally for the last seven years and has been an integral member of the Bar Team for the last two years. As a Bar Team member, you meet all kinds of people who are attending the Rally and I have high demands of this team being professional with everyone they encounter since they represent the Sturgis Police Department.

As his supervisor I have observed how Jonathan deals with citizens and always conducted himself in a professional manor. Jonathan has great leadership abilities, sets high ethical standards, and those qualities are shared with his team members.

Jonathan is an asset to any employer, and I believe he would serve the citizens of Edmunds County well as their next Sheriff.

Respectfully,

Geody B. VanDewater

Chief of Police Sturgis Police Department

To the Editor:

As we get closer to June 7 and the day we choose our state leaders for the next two years I would like to ask the voters of District 23 to elect and send Spencer Gosch back to Pierre.

I have worked with Spencer Gosch for the last three years, the first year he served as Speaker Pro-tem and the last two as the Speaker of the House.

Spencer has proven his conservative values and leadership in his time as a legislator, working to lower taxes and protect the rights and freedoms of all South Dakotans.

What I also admire about Speaker Gosch is how he fights for the agricultural community along with the local businesses that support them.

We need more leaders like Spencer Gosch, a leader that led the push to lower the sales tax, eliminate sales tax on food, and to provide a gas tax holiday. Far to many moderate Republicans are against lowing these taxes and letting South Dakota citizens keep more of their freedoms to make decisions for themselves and their families.

On June 7 please vote Spencer Gosch for you're District 23 Senator.

Rep. Marty Overweg

Chairman House Ag and Natural Resources committee
