Wolverines stop Thunder girls in basketball action last week

The North Central girls were defeated 61-30 by Herreid/Selby Area in Bowdle last Friday.

The visitors from HSA would lead14-6 after a quarter and also 25-20 at the half. But they gained more separation in the second half starting with a 40-29 third quarter lead.

One reason would be Jordyn Rossow with her 18 points and another would be Katie Allbee with 16 points. She was followed by Jade Rossow also in double figures with 11 points. Four more Wolverines would score.

Meanwhile the Thunder would be led by Ella Batie with 18 points followed by Alaina Dosch with five points that would include a trey. Ashton Heyne added three points and Katelyn Engelhart and Sydney Bertsch each contributed two points.

The Wolverines were able to make 22 baskets including two treys and added 15 free throws. The Thunder netted nine baskets that included their trey and were 11-21 in free throws.


The Thunder had 18 rebounds led by Batie's eight and the Wolverines grabbed 25 rebounds led by Jade Rossow with eight.

North Central sustained 29 turnovers and the Wolverine, 13.
