Ipswich hosted Leola/ Frederick Area in a girls only Lake Region Conference showdown last Tuesday, but the visitors would escape with  a 54-29 varsity victory.

The Titans only led 8-5 after a quarter. But they stretched their advantage to 22-11 at intermission and then outscored Ipswich 19-11 in the third quarter and  13-7 in the final quarter to seal the deal.

But Ipswich was led by Brianna Geditz and Anna Nierman with five points each, followed by Marley Guthmiller with four points and Rylee Kleffman also with four points that included a trey. Jaylssa Hutson also netted  a trey. Kaylin Onken, Reaghan Bowers, LaVahay Russell and Tristan Geditz each contributed two points.

The Titans were paced by Sofia Losure and Laura Sumption with 13 points apiece followed by Kalyce Achen with 10 points. Four other Titans were able to score. They were able to total 17 baskets that included eight treys and made 12 free throws.

Ipswich countered with 11 baskets that featured those two treys and went 5-10 in free throw opportunities. The Tigers would also utilize 27 rebounds led by Brianna Geditz, Onken and Russell with three each. (The visitors collected 37 rebounds led by Losure with 10 for a double-double.)

Ipswich sustained 20 turnovers and L-F 21, so fairly equal in that department. They also had an equal amount of steals, 13 apiece, that helped offset their respective miscues.
