Allene Eisenbeisz

Allene Eisenbeisz, 92, Bowdle, died Monday, May 13, 2024 at the Bowdle Nursing Home.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bowdle, led by Rev. Zachary Sippert. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery.

Allene Lillian Bieber, daughter of Emilie (Buxcel) and Arthur Bieber, was born at home on the farm south of Java on September 3, 1931. She attended country school and then boarded in Bowdle while attending Bowdle High School, class of 1949. She married Morris Eisenbeisz at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Bowdle on December 16, 1948. They lived on the Eisenbeisz farm three miles southeast of Bowdle. Allene kept busy raising four children, farming, milking cows, and raising cattle and chickens.

Allene furthered her education at Presentation College in Aberdeen from 1970-1972 where she earned her Laboratory Technician Degree. She then worked several years as a Lab Tech at the Bowdle Hospital Lab. In 1973, Morris and Allene moved into Bowdle, where Allene lived the rest of her life. Although living in town, Allene remained involved in Hilltop Angus Farm operations for as long as her health would allow. She remained in the home they had built until October 2018, when she entered the Bowdle Nursing Home.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. Allene was actively involved as a 4-H leader for the Busy Bowdle Stars for over 50 years. She also sold Beeline Clothing for several years. Her hobbies included bowling, square dancing, and gardening.

Allene is survived by two sons, Blake (Glenda) Eisenbeisz of Bowdle and Miles (Lori) Eisenbeisz of Aberdeen; two daughters, Hope (Doug) Larson of Bowdle and Heidi (Brian) Roshone of Canistota; two brothers, LeRoy Bieber of Aberdeen and Dale Bieber of Bowdle; one sister, Mary Ann Mertes of Rapid City; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris, on June 8, 2009; and four brothers, Dennis, Ronald, Willis, and Terry (age 3).

Honorary bearers were granddaughters Cayla Larson, Brooke Heilman, Paige Hanson, McKenna Eisenbeisz, Payton Eisenbeisz, and Kara Roshone.

Casketbearers were grandsons, Cody Larson and Denzel Eisenbeisz of Aberdeen; Coy Larson of Bloomington, Minn .; Carson Roshone of Sioux City, Iowa; Brody Roshone of Canistota; and Blake Eisenbeisz, Jr. of Bowdle.

Ushers were Clyde Eisenbeisz and Michael Odenbach. The organist was Pastor Tim Daub.

Memorials are preferred and should be mailed to the Eisenbeisz Family, PO Box 47, Bowdle, SD 57428. Funds will be directed to the Bowdle Healthcare Center and to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
