Carter Heinz was the 195 champion in Groton
Ipswich/Leola/Bowdle's varsity wrestlers attended an invite at Groton last Saturday, led by Carter Heinz's championship at 195. The Tigers received an additional fourth-place finish from Tanner Frickson at 120.
Heinz scored 22 of the Tigers' 32.5 team points, concluding with a 1:19 pin of a Canton JV opponent in their championship match.
Frickson was next with 7.5 team points and lost a hard-fought 5-4 placement decision in his third-place match to a Warner/Northwestern foe.
Denver Wolff obtained the team's remaining three points at 126.
The Watertown JV topped the Canton JV 175 to 144...
