IHS golfers hope for meet on Friday in Mitchell

The Ipswich varsity golfers are planning on attending a Friday invitational meet at Michell on Friday, April 5 and are no doubt anxious to get their season underway after battling the snow banks and standing water here.

The Tiger girls and boys are hoping to have a successful season. Last year the boys placed fifth at the State B, helped by the senior leadership of Dylan Northrop. Returners with experience are Ethan Gilbert, a junior and freshmen Luke Peterson and Kaden Boettcher. So the pieces of the puzzle could fall into place on the boys' side again this year. (Halie Feldman was the lone Lady Tiger qualifying for the girls' state B last year.)

Golfers listed in this year’s roster are senior Nathan Kamps; juniors Ethan Gilbert, Tucker Green; sophomores Taryn Kleffman, Halie Feldman, Angeline Rye; ninth graders Matthew Jaenisch, Zach Geditz, Luke Peterson, Jacob Bakken, Kaden Boettcher; eighth graders Gabe Simon, Chloe Swenson, Lilly Gaub, Kamryn Boettcher; seventh graders Chet Peterson, Trevor Larson, Sam Grabowska, Jace Konsor; and sixth graders (not eligible for varsity) Rylee Kleffman, Brooks Osborne, Ashton Santema, Nicholas Fuhrmann, and Justin Rohrbach.

They are coached by Matt Pollock.

Ipswich's own invite is scheduled for April 13 at Split Rock and Ipswich will also host a meet on May 9. Weather permitting of course in both instances!
