Records can be deceiving, especially when two traditional Lake Region Conference high school basketball rivals lock horns. That was the scenario last Thursday in Mellette, where the Ipswich Tiger girls' basketball team escaped with a 51-47 overtime victory over the home-court Wildcats.

It was that close! The score was tied six times, including that all-important tie at the end of regulation and the lead also changed hands six times. And you might suspect this confrontation just might require a little more time to sort things out. Ipswich would indeed edge its hosts 9-8 in the final quarter...
