Ipswich senior Will Kadlec and junior Halle Heinz were each selected on their respective Aberdeen American News All-Area high school basketball teams as announced last week. Those elite lists include players from all three class divisions, AA, A and B, so are definitely highly deserved.

Heinz and Kadlec were both Ipswich's go-to players on offense and also made things happen on the defensive side of the court.

Their conference, the LRC, was well-represented in both instances, highlighted by the All-Area Coaches — David Rohrbach of Aberdeen Christian as the boys' mentor and Chase Casper of Faulkton the girls' coach. (They each guided their teams to their first-ever State B qualifications, even though the coronavirus would prevent the eventual outcomes.)
