Ipswich/Bowdle attended an invitational wrestling meet last Saturday in Lemmon and got to face some opponents that you wouldn't ordinarily get to meet in this neck of the woods.

And the Tigers were able to obtain several placements among the nine total teams in this first-ever event hosted by Lemmon/McIntosh.

Their effort was led by Tanner Frickson with 24 team points for a 132 lb. weight title. He capped his bid with a 7-2 championship win over Thayne Elshere of Sturgis Brown JV.

Brady Unser was next with 16 team points for second-place at 113, being pinned by a Bowman County/Beach wrestler in 1:32 of their title match. Also getting into double-figures with 17 points in this event was Lucas Rowland at 285. (He obtained a pin at 2:31 of his third-place placement match.) Grant Weisser was also third at 170. Darrel Yost at 170 placed fifth. Kadyn Weisser also placed fifth at 182. That is where Tyler Tran placed sixth. The remaining Tiger placer was Adam Kanable at seventh at 152.

They are now idle until a January 14 event in Faulkton.

• 106- Lane Miller was pinned, 3:25; was pinned, :35.

• 113- Brady Unser won 7-1; won by pin, 1:15; was pinned, 1:34 for second place.

• 132- Tanner Frickson won by pin, :50; won by pin, 1:15; won 7-2 for first place.

• 152- Adam Kanable was pinned, :33; was pinned, :18; then received a bye for seventh place.

• 170- Darrel Yost lost 5-4; was pinned, 4:58; lost 7-3; was pinned, :46 for fifth place.

• 170- Grant Weisser lost 6-2; won 3-0; won 7-3; was pinned, 1:35 for third place.

• 182- Kadyn Weisser was pinned, 5:43; bye; was pinned, 1:24; won by pin, 4:22 for fifth place.

• 182- Tyler Tran was pinned, 1:57; bye; was pinned, 1:42; was pinned, 4:22 for sixth place.

• 285- Lucas Rowland was pinned, 2:17; won by pin, :58; won by pin, 3:00; won by pin, 2:31 for third place.
