Fiddlin' Around

We were talking about those radical temperature swings in spring and fall and they have occurred again to open May's weather.

The weekend was really warm, even for this time of the year, and all you outdoor enthusiasts could get out there and do your thing. And that obviously included our area high school athletes!

But much cooler air was ushered in on Monday and early Tuesday by strong northerly wind gusts. Needless to say that brought a quick halt to our warmup and would noticeable help to lower the average daily temperature, just like the earlier southerly and westerly winds had helped to influence those days' daily high.

It still remained quite dry, though with only a light shower or two. So the powerful winds on Monday produced some spotty blowing dust in the air, but hopefully no wildfires out in the countryside.

Unfortunately we didn't have a whole lot of time to be outdoors over the weekend preparing for the busy May end-of-school related events and related newspaper and print job work.

And don’t forget Mom on her day on Sunday, May 9. Happy Mother’s Day!!
