$168,000 IN CREAM SHIPPED FROM IPSWICH
The Dairy Cow Is a Life Saver – Milk More Cows and Sell More Cream to the Local Dealers
An item of importance which we overlooked last week in the article regarding the shipments from Ipswich in 1927, that of the 10,000 cans of cream or a value of $120,000.
There were also 4,000 cans of cream trucked out of Ipswich or a value of $48,000.
Thus, the sum total of the value of cream shipments from Ipswich in 1927 amounted to $168,000.
The value of the dairy cow is not realized until such startling figures as the above are brought forcibly before us. As we see the farmer bringing in his one or two cans of cream we think lightly on the matter. In the aggregate it amounts to a great deal. The dairy cow is the farmer’s best bet. She helps out when all else fails. Combined with the hen, the pair might easily be termed as the “gold dust twins” in the farmer’s life
