Wrestlers see action in Miller Tournament

The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers competed in Miller on Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Miller/Highmore-Harrold Invitational.

The I/B wrestlers tied with Faulkton Area for eighth with 78 points each. The hosts won their own meet with 162 points. Parkston was second.

I/B wrestler Lucas Rowland placed second in his division.

The I/B results were:

120 — Brady Unser won by fall (1:35), won by fall (2:46), lost by fall (1:47), lost by fall (2:13), won by forfeit for fifth place (15 team points)

126 — Xavier Kadlec lost by fall (1:26) and lost by fall (1:59)

138 — Gunnar Knittel lost by fall (3:30), lost by fall (2:49), received a bye for seventh place (2 team points)

182 — Justin Rohrbach received a bye, lost by major decision (9-0), won by fall (1:58), won by fall (2:40), lost by fall (1:47), won by fall (4:12) for fifth place (13 team points)

195 — Grant Weisser lost by fall (3:12), won by fall (4:27), lost by fall (2:36), won by decision (2-1) for fifth place (8 team points)

220 — Kadyn Weisser won by fall (3:35), lost by decision (7-1), won by fall (4:17), won by fall (4:48) for third place (18 team points)

285 — Lucas Rowland received a bye, won by fall (0:13), won by fall (4:37), lost by fall (1:32) for second place (22 team points)

The I/B Tigers are scheduled to wrestle a triangular in Mobridge on Jan. 12. Saturday they will compete at the Battler Tournament in Gettysburg.
