Ipswich/Bowdle wrestlers place third at Groton, two champions

The Ipswich/Bowdle wrestling team placed third at the Groton Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Two I/B wrestlers were first place winners - Brady Unser at 120 and Lucas Rowland at 285. Second place winners were Beau Schilling, Justin Rohrbach, and Grant Weisser. Kadyn Weisser was a third place winner.

The I/B wrestlers earned 114 points. Faulkton Area was the Invite winner with 161 points, followed by Warner/Northwestern with 117 points.

Ipswich/Bowdle results were:

120 - Brady Unser (12-6) won by fall (0.36), won by fall (0:13), won by fall (0:20), won by fall (0:49) for first place (28 team points)

126 - Xavier Kadlec (4-12) lost by fall (0:48), received a bye, lost by fall (0:57)

145 - Beau Schilling (2-1) received a bye, won by fall (2:22), won by fall (1:23), lost by fall (1:04) for second place (20 team points)

182 - Justin Rohrbach (11-13) won by fall (0:38), won by fall (3:45), lost by fall (0:22) for second place (18 team points)

195 - Grant Weisser (8-9) won by fall (1:38), won by sudden victory-1 (SV-1 8-6), lost by fall (1:04) for second place (16 team points)

220 - Kadyn Weisser (12-8) received a bye, lost by tech fall (17-1), won by decision (10-4), won by decision (7-2) for third place (8 team points)

285 - Lucas Rowland (19-2) won by fall (0:53), won by fall (0:52), won by fall (3:50) for first place (24 team points.

The I/B wrestlers will compete at the LRC Meet on Feb. 2 in Warner and then in Warner/Northwestern Quad on Feb. 3.
