David August Braun was born March 20, 1947, in Ipswich, to Frank J. and Lucille (Heinz) Braun of rural Mina.  He attended school at Mina West country school through second grade, then attended Holy Cross in Ipswich through eighth grade and graduated from Ipswich High School with the Class of 1965.

He worked on trucks for Bill Rogers and at the Starlite servicing trucks. David married Margaret Malsom on April 27, 1968 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aberdeen. They were blessed with three children: Amy, Dustin and Keith.

After a few years in Aberdeen, David and Margaret moved to the home farm where David grew up. There they raised their family, along with cattle, hogs and grain on the family farm.  David served on the Cortlandt Township board for over 40 years.  He was also a member of the Holy Cross Men's Forester group.

David enjoyed feeding cattle in the winter, making hay in the summer, pushing silage and hauling cattle in the fall.  The last few years he enjoyed checking fields with his golf cart.  There were only few days that he wasn't driving his loader tractor until his health began to fail.

He enjoyed visiting with classmates and family at gatherings over the years.  He always smiled while watching the grandchildren at family events.

David is survived by his wife Margaret Braun; children, Amy (Jim) Duvall, Dustin (Michelle) Braun and Keith Braun, all of Mina; brothers, Jerald (Barb) Braun of Wetonka and Kevin (Richelle) Braun of Aberdeen; sisters, Carol Bosanko of Ipswich and Susan Steward of Bath; grandchildren, Casey (Brittney) Duvall of Ipswich, Ty, Audi, Autumn, and Lane Braun of Mina; and great-grandson, Henry James Duvall.

David was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother William and brother, Ken.

Arrangements are with Schriver Funeral Home of Ipswich. Condolences and memories may be shared with David's family at www. schriverfuneralhome.com .
