Fiddlin' Around

September 13, 2023

Things are already happening fast regarding the September activity events. There was one thing though that you may have missed and that was Patriot Day on 9-11. But we hope that you did remember the reason for that day and at least were able to fly your flags.

But there was one September event that we have really enjoyed, which apparently won't happen this year and that would have been the Northeast South Dakota Celtic Faire at Richmond Lake. Maybe the fish will still be biting there though.

I won the grandest door prize they had at last year's Faire and that was an acoustic guitar autographed by all the band members from far, far away — from Canada. But we were able to attend a new area event on Friday evening and that was a bluegrass concert in perfect weather sponsored by South Dakota Public Broadcasting at Central Park in Aberdeen.

The next day (Saturday) began with Ipswich's annual cross country event and that weather wasn't nearly that nice.

And Ipswich will also be hosting its annual Subway Volleyball Invitational this Saturday. Good luck to our area teams in that one!
