Ipswich was able to attend a high school track and field meet at Gettysburg in improving weather conditions last Saturday and will then host the Tiger Relays on April 24.

The Ipswich boys again placed second to Mobridge-Pollock with 135 IHS team points, narrowly trailing their M-P Tiger counterparts who rang up 140.5 points. The Ipswich girls were third in their events with 90 total points, trailing Wolsey-Wessington's 109 and Mobridge-Pollock's 105.

The girls were able to obtain a lone champion that day in the person of Gracie Lange with her 4-11.00 high-jump effort, but were able to score the remainder of their points with their overall team depth. Those efforts were paced by Marley Guthmiller obtaining a second-place pole vault height at 6-03.00.

The IHS Tiger boys? Josh McQuarie won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.65 and also topped the 300-meter hurdles in 44.85. For good measure, he claimed a 5-07.00 winning high-jump leap.

The winning Ipswich sprint-relay efforts were entered by Dylan Owens, Carson Gohl, Matthew Hettich and Ty Kadlec, winning their 4x100 in 45.47 and the 4x200 in 1:33.84. Kadlec was second in the 100-meter dash in 11.52 and Darrel Yost added a second in the pole vault fray with his 9-03.00 height.
