Ipswich Golfers conference medalists in Aberdeen

Ipswich made an impact at the LRC golf meet last Thursday in Aberdeen. The Tigers featured the first place medalist in both the girls and boys divisions of the meet. And their combined leadership indeed contributed to the Tigers’ team showing at the meet.

Ipswich topped runner-up Faulkton 255 to 257 on the boys' side and the IHS girls were second only to Faulkton in the girls' standings 301 to 346.

Girls first! Hailey Feldman won the girls' event with her 96, followed by Sydney Campbell of Faulkton's runner-up 99. Ipswich's next scorer was Tarynn Kleffman in sixth at 123, followed closely by Ashton Loken in seventh at 127.

The boys? Luke Peterson claimed the boys' individual crown with his 74, narrowly edging Bennett Cassens of Faulkton and Jett Becker of Aberdeen Christian who each fired a 77. Ipswich added a fifth-place effort from Chet Peterson with his 89 and Matthew Jaenisch became their third scorer with his seventh-place 92.

Jace Konsor contributed a 11th-place 100.

The Ipswich golfers are scheduled to play in the JVC Invitational on May 13 in the Broadland Creek course in Huron. Then they will play in the same location for the pre-region warm-up meet on May 17.
