Quiet week for Tiger netters

Ipswich made the short high school volleyball trip over to Roscoe vs. the North Central Thunder on Monday evening, Sept. 27, which resulted in a 3-0 LRC league win by the Tigers. It was indeed a straight-sets 3-0 win for the visiting team who would take home a 25-13, 26-24, 25-12 victory.

Ipswich would fuel its win with a 71-82 night at the net which included 31 kills. Katie Bierman went 19-23 there with 11 kills and Gracie Lange was next with a 19-21 eight-kills evening. The Thunder responded with a 43-62 hitting evening that featured nine kills.

Ipswich would set all that up with a perfect 72-72 setting evening, including 26 assists. Quincy Olivier was 49-49 in that phase of the game with 21 assists. She was followed by Bierman at 16-16,4. The Thunder were 43-61 in setting attempts that would include eight assists.

The Tigers also utilized efficient serving, going 57-71 at the line with 10 aces. Olivier finished 18 of 19 with six aces and Baylee Kulesa, 10-12 with two aces. North Central ended up 43-52 there with six aces.

The Tigers came up with 35 digs, led by Bierman with nine and Madison Geditz with eight, while the Thunder countered with 38 digs and five blocks.

Ipswich was scheduled to play in Faulkton on Tuesday. Saturday will be a Potter County tournament in Gettysburg. The Tigers will travel to Mobridge on Monday, Oct. 11 to face Mobridge-Pollock for a clash of the Tigers.
