Ipswich played host to the Potter County Lady Batters on February 17 in the Tiger Den, but lost the non-conference confrontation 54-25.

The Tiger girls were limited to four first-quarter points including Katie Bierman's game-opening pair of free throws and Baylee Kulesa's quarter-ending offensive rebound put-back. That left the Tiger girls down 15-4 at the first break and they would then face a 24-8 halftime deficit. (Potter County's initial double-figure lead was 13-2.)

The visiting team would then manufacture a 35-17 lead with a quarter to play, despite three Tiger points late in the third quarter -- Quincy Olivier's deuce and Bierman's quarter-ending free throw. The Lady Battlers would also enjoy a 19-8 scoring surplus in the final quarter to help nail down their win.

They entered eight players in their scorebook, led by Tyler Simon with a game-high 18 points. Kayden Cronin added 14 points to also reach double-figures in their ledger.

The Tigers, meanwhile, obtained a dozen points from Bierman, including one trey and Olivier would finish with six points. And Karlie Gohl was next with a trey for her three points. Kulesa and Kaylin Onken each scored two points for the Tiger cause.

The rebounding situation saw Ipswich with 32 rebounds, led by Gabby Wald with six boards. The visitors would pull down 35 rebounds, paced by Simon with 10 for a double-double.

Ipswich sustained 19 turnovers; Potter County, 12. The Battler girls had 14 steals; Ipswich, nine, led by Bierman's three thefts. Ipswich was able to dish out 10 assists, also led by Bierman with four.

The Tiger girls shot 10-47 from the floor which included those two treys and were 3-4 in free throw trips. Potter County made 23 of its 51 field-goal attempts and included a trio of treys. The Lady Battlers were 5-11 at the charity stripe.
