April 27, 2022

The Ipswich High School boys attended a recent invitational golf tourney in Miller, where they placed third as a team with their 279.

Bennett Cassens of Faulkton Area became the overall boys medalist with his 76, leading the Trojans to the team title with their team total of 264 strokes. Wessington Springs with its 276 barely edged Ipswich. (The second-place individual golfer would prove to be Gavin Colson of Sully Buttes at 82.)

Ipswich was paced by Luke Peterson with a 90 for ninth in the individual standings. Next would be Tucker Kadlec in 12th at 93. The third IHS scorer would be Jace Konsor with a 20th-place 96. Chet Peterson placed 22nd at 96 and Matthew Jaenisch was 23rd with a 97.

Miller won the girls' team title with a 282, thanks in part to their first-place golfer Jayce Pugh with her 78.

The meet in Ipswich on April 23 was not able to be held due to the weather. But there will next be a Faulkton Invitational on April 28 and a Bowdle Invite on April 30.
