Luke Peterson first place at Faulkton Golf Invite, Tiger boys second

The Ipswich High School golfers were indeed able to see some recent action despite the rain.

Their golfers attended a varsity meet in Faulkton on April 28, placing second as a team in the boys outcome to Faulkton 237 to 239, a mere two stroke difference. And the IHS girls were represented by Riley Kleffman, who finished 19th among 23 golfers with her 120.

The top girl would be Jayce Pugh of Miller with a 71 and Miller would also claim the girls' team honors that day.

But the Tigers' Luke Peterson won the individual boys' outcome, topping Faulkton's Bennett Cassons 69 to 73.

In the boys' results, Ipswich was next led by Chet Peterson in fifth at 81 and Jace Konsor placed 13th among 36 contestants at 89. And Tucker Kadlec was 16th with a 91.

The IHS varsity golfers are scheduled to play in the Lake Region Conference on May 5 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Aberdeen. The Eureka Invitational is on May 7.

The Ipswich golfers also attended a recent middle-school/JV invite hosted by Potter County.

Ipswich's Tucker Kadlec would win their boys JV event with a nine-hole 45. Gabe Simon was sixth at 53, followed by Jacob Bakken in ninth at 55. And Evan Onken placed 11th with a 60, followed by Trevor Larson 13th at 63. Nick Fuhrmann had a 16th-place 71 and Brooks Osborne added a 73 for 18th.

Ipswich also entered some boys into the middle-school competition. Hayden Schlos- ser was sixth at 54, followed by Sam Bass 13th with his 61 and Jace Stiles, 16th at 64.

Meanwhile, Riley Kleffman was third among the JV girls there that day with her nine-hole 66. And Molly Simon would win the girls' middle-school event with her 58. (Hope Wagner finished ninth in that outcome at 77.)
