The North Central track and field athletes were busy hosting an invite, the Eureka Lions Meet on Tuesday, May 2 in Eureka.

This event was swept by Ipswich, though, winning both the boys and girls divisions. The Tiger boys overwhelmed second-place Timber Lake 405 to 182 and the Tiger girls also topped runners-up Timber Lake 350 to 214.

Host team North Central meanwhile would be fourth in the boys division with 142 points and the Thunder girls were fifth at 142.

Ipswich utilized multiple first-place efforts enroute to its impressive team scores. First for the girls, Madisyn Gellhaus won the 1600-meter run in 5:38.48. So did Marley Guthmiller in the 100-meter hurdles at 17.78. And Gracie Lange was first in the high jump at 5-00.00 and also first in the long jump at 14-08. And Ipswich would go 1 through 4 in the pole vault won by Quincy Olivier at 8-06.00. And not to be ignored Ashley Ptacek would capture the triple jump event at 32-02.75.

Trevor Heinz had a busy day for the IHS boys. He won the 100-meter dash in 11.50, the 200-meter dash in 23.37 and the long jump at 20-08.25. And if that wasn't all he would anchor the 4x100 relay quartet to a 44.75 victory. Those other runners were Kyle Hettich, Colby Sylte, and Tyler Hettich. Ipswich would also capture the boys' 4x400 meter relay in 3:41.66 ran by Turner Thorson, Kyle Hettich, Ian Beyers and Maxwell Kulesa.

There were even more notable achievements that day by the Tiger boys. For instance Maxwell Kulesa would indeed win the 800-meter run in 2:07.32 and Tyler Hettich owned the high jump at 5-10.00.
