Lions stop Tigers on the road

Ipswich lost a league varsity volleyball encounter last Thursday in Langford. The hosts would win 25-22, 25-15 and 25-20.

But Marley Guthmiller would lead the Tigers' net effort with nine kills, followed by Gabby Wald with five kills. Altogether Ipswich totaled 21 kills. They were enabled by Ipswich's setting effort, led by Reaghan Bowers with 15 assists and Knutson with four. They would distribute a total of 20 assists.

The Tigers also dropped in four aces in their overall serving duties. Knutson, Guthmiller, Bowers and Kaylin Onken each landed one ace. They were led at the line by Bowers with a 16-17 evening that would include that ace.

Ipswich had 67 digs led by Guthmiller with 12 of them and Bowers with 10. And Brianna Geditz was next with eight digs.

Meanwhile Natalie Crissman would lead Ipswich with a trio of assisted blocks, while Jayda Gisi added two assisted blocks that evening.

The Tigers hosted North Central Monday. Thursday they play Potter County on the road then they travel to Faulkton on Oct. 3.
