Thunder boys and girls fifth at Miller Cross Country meet

Ipswich and North Central both attended a cross country meet in Miler on September 25. The NC varsity boys and girls each placed fifth in their respective team standings.

The NC girls were led by Grace Roth 19th in 23:16.85 and then Melanie Dallenbach was 22nd in 23:39.52. Their third scorer was Kassandra Abbas 29th in 24:43.78 and they totaled 56 team points.

Potter County led those standings with 10 points out-distancing the runners-up James Valley Christian at 23. But Northwestern's Ella Boekelheide placed first individually at 19:26.77. Mobridge-Pollock's Heidi Olson placed second in 19:51.14.

Ipswich entered two runners in the girls' varsity meet — Madisyn Gellhaus ninth in 21:57.31 and Gracyn Kadlec 20th in 23:21.02.

Now for the varsity boys! The Thunder scored 63 team points while Philip won that event with 11 team points followed by Miller with 16. But Miller was led by Alex Schumacher in the individual standings with his 16:48.61. Wakely Burns of Philip was second in 16:55.31.

The Thunder's top runner was Anthony Miller placing 21st in 18:58.57. Gabe Johnson was next at 22nd in 18:59.13. Drew Arbach placed 30th in 19:33.27 followed by Avery Wells who was 35th in 19:40.60. Theo Haerter added a 62nd in 22:45.61.

Ipswich would enter only one varsity boy in the person of Xavier Kadlec who finished 20th in 18:58.18.

Boys 4K Junior Varsity results:

North Central: (Third place, 19 points) 5-Aaron Ingerson, 15:58.18; 8-Keegan Miller, 16:06.54; 9-Jason Arbach, 16:18.58; 15-Noah Ingerson, 17:05.75

Ipswich: (Fourth place, 41 points) 13-Tyler Gellhaus, 16:49.44; 16-Ethan Wald, 17:48.69; 22-Tye Pietz, 18:58.15

Girls 4K Junior Varsity results:

North Central: (Third place, 28 points) 2-Mikaela Malsom, 17:40.64; 14-Lily Roth 19:04.39; 21-Sophie Kroll, 21:44.98

Ipswich: (Second place, 18 points) 1-Bella Henderson, 17:33.80; 10-Aubrey Crissman, 18:49.24; 13-Olivia Kadlec, 18:51.70; 19-Bella Unser, 21:28.18

Boys 3K Middle School results:

Ipswich: (Fourth place, 29 points) 2-Brayan Paguaga, 11:56.06; 23-Edison Unser, 13:44.69; 24-Benjamin Hoyle, 13:53.89; 29-Riley Pietz, 15:09.20; 32-Jaxon Jager, 15:32.65

Girls 3K Middle School results:
