Thunder GBB season opens Dec. 8

The North Central girls' varsity basketball team has 11 players this season led by seniors Jenisa Jacobs and Katelyn Engelhart.
They also feature one junior in the person of Sydney Bertsch. There are five sophmores: Lindsey Geier, Alaina Dosch, Ella Battie, Amree Vander Vorst and Anne Mateos Fernandez. The varsity freshman newcomers will include Camryn Witlock, Kaidence Bulgin and Ashton Heyne.
They will be coached by Kaci Vander Vorst assisted by Ashley Grenz.
So they will be a fairly young team, but with some definite potential as the season progresses along.
It all starts at Sully Buttes on December 8 girls only. The first Thunder home game will then be in Eureka on December 9 vs. McIntosh and it's a girls/boys twinbill.
The regional is scheduled for February 20, 22 TBA and the SoDak 16 is on the 29th. Meanwhile the State A will be held on March 7-9 in Brookings.
